Who are the Order Officials

Order Officials are citizens that have been chosen to hold additional responsibilities to their fellows based on their skills and abilities. The primary responsibility of an Order Official is to protect citizens from injury due to negligence or malice. When an incident occurs, the Order Official is tasked with ensuring the arrangement of necessary treatment for victims. The collection of any citizen or outsider that may be responsible to the victim is secondary to ensuring the safety of the people.

History of the Order Officials

Order Officials are tasked with ensuring the safety of Meade citizens. In the early days of Meade, villagers had real concerns about wild magical beasts wandering into town or destroying their crops. They also had concerns regarding the swindlers and charmers that prey on small villages. Warriors were needed to patrol Meade. The Council named these warriors Order Officials.

After the completion of the Meade Animal Sanctuary, it was necessary to reorganize the Order Officials. Officials would continue to be trained in wildlife control, however the primary focus for the group would be the conduct of Meade’s citizenry as it related to safety. Many of the warriors found it difficult to adapt chose to leave the organization due to the restructuring. Community leaders began recruiting new trainees from the general population.

Trainees in the Order Official Program must complete primary military training an apprenticeship with a healer prior to application. Once accepted, Military Council Leaders test the potential Order Official over a period of three missions. They will determine worthiness based on field performance. Candidates are not required to complete these missions during any particular time period. Council testing is rigorous and successful official candidates typically train several years between test sessions.
